Finally, waste to energy in Australia becomes a subject for public discussion. In Europe, the UK, North and South America and New Zealand various technologies at hundreds of installations are already in operation, adding value to local economies and more broadly. Indeed they are well accepted by many communities as a practical, environmentally responsible and commercially viable business solutions – meeting needs emerging from the way we live today.

An important component to current discussions is technology. Different feedstocks simply match better to different technologies. That is they deliver better outcomes (are more efficient) in energy generation terms, produce lower emissions/more carbon benefits etc.

We work in clean waste wood. Hundreds of thousands of tonnes of which is produced in Victoria alone annually … Matching the optimum technology to this feedstock not only can BEA deliver energy cost savings to industrial customers it can reduce landfill costs and carbon emissions.

Victoria should consider burning rubbish to generate energy
